Best tips for sticking to your diet – Don’t show prejudice towards your macros or food choices


No one likes the idea of a diet and because of this, many people falter on their way to getting their dream bodies. Even when armed with all the right information, it’s still very easy to get discouraged about the whole thing and quit.

So here are a couple of things I’ve found that will help you stick with it.

You may not need all of them but some might scream out to you as a good idea and if that’s all it takes to keep you on path, that’s good enough.

In the late 80s, fats were identified as the reason you put on weight and they went all out to create all these fat free meals that still made people fat.

Now they’re suggesting it’s carbs that are the culprit and they’re creating all these low/no carb meals that are still making people fat.

Just remember,

No one Macronutrient is the problem,

and

No one food choice is the problem

.

It’s the total calories, and it all boils down to consuming too many. We shouldn’t be isolating carbohydrates or fats or white rice or refined grains, or high fructose corn syrup as the enemy and making them the scapegoat.

As with everything in life, balance and moderation is the key I think.

I urge you to understand the role of macronutrients and calories in your journey and you will find that you don’t have to completely wave goodbye to anything or necessarily waste your money on items that promise the world and deliver nothing.

Understanding you should be focusing on your overall nutrition and not individual food choices in isolation, is a key mental barrier in making that life long body transformation you’ve always wanted.

This isn’t to say with this understanding, you ultimately choose to neglect carbs in order to obtain a calorie deficit but at least this way, you understand what’s actually happening.
