Best tips for sticking to your diet – Don’t do it alone

No one likes the idea of a diet and because of this, many people falter on their way to getting their dream bodies. Even when armed with all the right information, it’s still very easy to get discouraged about the whole thing and quit.

So here are a couple of things I’ve found that will help you stick with it.

You may not need all of them but some might scream out to you as a good idea and if that’s all it takes to keep you on path, that’s good enough.

A deficit shared is a deficit halved

History has shown that we as a race are generally capable of great things when we work together.

So don’t be alone in your venture.

Do this as a couple,

do it as a family,

do it with your friends

Do it as an office

heck even do it as enemies on a wager against one another.

If all else fails, find some people online or in your local area and do it as a real or virtual community. You’ll motivate one another, keep yourselves on track and be able to enjoy each other’s progress.

Another easy hit on the psychological motivation train.

Using the external/internal motivation example, it would be best if you invested in a group goal as well, like training to take part in something for charity, something like doing a group tough mudder or another type team event, or an adventure holiday/bachelor party/hen night etc.

It’s a great group incentive that is likely to get everyone involved, as long as you all keep the same levels of interest in it.

If one person goes all militant with it and starts to take control, it might put off the others but if you all chip in, it can really help everyone get to where they need to be.

Just remember, you will all have different goals and may not land there at the same time, the key is for everyone to remain consistent until the last man is over the line.

Make sure no one is left behind on your group journey.
