The Superman exists and he isn’t american (or a man)…

This is another smallville based entry. Honestly, I dont love the show but it seems to have a lot of relevant points on it.

Before Clark finally dons his mantle as Superman, he does some covert superhero stint in his normal clothes in Metropolis. On one of his superspeed heroic attempts, he gets caught on camera and is now given the title as the red blur by the papers.

The blur becomes the unseen force of good and protection over the city, a piece of urban fokelore used to help children sleep safe at night and scare criminals into doing the right thing.

It would seem that the blur is not only a real entity in the fictional world of smallville but is also a real entity in our world. Let me tell you about the Blur…

A jewellery heist is being held at broad day light and while the streets are filled with potential people to help, no one does anything. Get this, a man has the audacity to get his phone out and start filming the entire incident rather than help. Now I can give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was gathering vital evidence which may be used. Also we wouldnt have footage of the blur if not for him

Now while the Jeweller is trying to raise help and close up the shop, you see the Blur shoot from the corner of the screen, come and tussle with a few of these armed men . They are taken aback by the sheer power of the blur and decide to make a quick break, but not before the Blur manages to knock one of the men to the floor.

At this point, people around grow some dutch courage and help the blur wrestle this gentleman to the ground and keep him there till the police arrive. This ultimately lead to the arrest of the entire gang.

The blur is then last seeen on tape, speeding off into the distance, just as they came, with no sense of reward, entitelment of  anything. Off to keep the streets safe once more from evil dooers.

So everything sounds all fine and dandy in this story right?

Because the blur is actually a 70-year old lady who sprinted from miles away to stop a crime.

I mean what kinda sick society do we live in where we are all willing to sit back and do nothing when wrong is being done. A society that would watch an elderly woman sprint from miles away to preserve the course of justice. DO we really lack that much backbone as a nation.

Worst of al, the lady wants no fame for her reward while the guy who filmed her tacling the goons has probably got a nice lil sum for his video clip.

The Blur is being hailed as a hero but on the contrary, I think we have all become a nation of cowards, where we are all to self absorbed in our own self interest to do the RIGHT thing. If they had killed that woman, would all those people been have able to sleep late at night. Aren’t we supposed to now be able to take responsiblility for looking after the wellfare of our elderly.

Just remember that one day we too will grow old and damned will be the earth as our morally corrupt young will suceed us to inherit the earth. As I paraphrase from Rorsarch…

Our Civilization is ugly, I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout ‘Save us!’ And the Old Lady will look down, and whisper ‘no’. Then I’d push her into a puddle, the frigid bitch…
